Taverna Mediterranean Grill: Authentic Mediterranean Cuisine in Vista, CA

This was my first time here, and I must say it exceeded all of my expectations. Being my first time, I ordered the combo plate with chicken, beef, and lamb. I couldn't decide on a favorite. They were all amazing. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere delightful.

100% the best take-out salad I’ve ever ordered. Nice fresh salad with combo of gyro and grilled chicken- yes! There is no skimping on anything and it is delicious! I got the feta fries to balance out the salad and they’re as good as they sound. Highly recommend! Will be going back soon.

The best chicken I have ever tasted in my life. Its fresh, juicy and always great tasting. Quality food. I probably eat this once a week at minimum. Their chicken kebab salad is my go to. And when we’re feeling extra hungry, we end up ordering the feta fries. Which are so addicting. Perfect blend of feta, lemon, black pepper. Forever our favorite place

The food here was absolutely delicious! We came with a group that totaled 13 people last night. Everyone ordered different things: salads, hummus, gyros, fried zucchini, salmon. So many wonderful choices and everyone loved their meals. We were so happy that we selected this place to meet with this big group. The service was great. You place your order at the counter and your food is delivered to the table. The server/cashier was a really pleasant young lady. She was very polite and helpful. We will be back. The gyro meat was tender, juicy and very flavorful!

Good food here, usually quiet when I come in. Plenty of seating. It can be hot inside though. The food is great quality, and usually you can get a good ammount for a decent sized family. I do feel like the food isn't seasoned as well as I like it, but that's just my personal preference. I've only eaten here once so far, it will definitely come back sometime.

Best Mediterranean food in vista/oceanside area. Veggies always fresh ta def. Best tatziki. Pricey but overall worth it.

Taverna serves mighty fine excellent plates of food. The portion sizes are ideal, enough for sharing. Quality of proteins also ideal and well seasoned with flavor. Salad was nice, yet had a tad more oil than desired. Olives did take the flavors in the right direction for Mediterranean dishes. Right balance of onion and peppers on the kabob. Rice was on the bottom that soaked up alot of the salad and kabob juices, but okay overall. They really should consider providing self-serve beverages (at least get it fixed or filled with product). Dining room reflects the soda machine as it is there, but needs a bit more flair. Looking forward to another meal - hopefully they will get the soda machine running as well as brighten up the dining room. Recommend folks who like Mediterranean food to give this place a try at least once.
